Names that carry tend to share two qualities: a strong opening consonant and a bright, open vowel. Jack, Max, Tess, Kai, Rose, Finn. Each lands cleanly even in a busy room, and none of them need a nickname to cut through.
What makes a name carry
The vowel does most of the work. Long A, long E and long O sounds travel best. Soft or muffled vowels (schwa, short U) can get lost. The opening consonant gives the listener a clear start. Hard consonants (K, T, J) cut through noise more reliably than soft ones.
A name you can shout is a name you will use a thousand times a week without thinking.
