What is Namekin?

Namekin is a privacy-first baby name discovery app for expecting couples. Swipe through thousands of names, match with your partner via end-to-end encrypted sync, and decide on a name together. Almost everything stays on your device.

How does partner sync work?

Pair with your partner by sharing a one-time code from Settings › Partner. Once paired, your matches are end-to-end encrypted and only your two devices can read them. We never see the underlying name data on our servers.

How do polls work?

Create a poll from inside the app to let friends and family vote on a shortlist. Poll links are anonymous, work in any browser, and one vote per person is enforced through a per-poll voter ID stored on the voter's device. Polls expire after 30 days unless you close them sooner.

How do I delete my data?

Open Settings › Delete account in the app for a full one-step wipe of every trace of your use of Namekin. For granular options (clear local data only, unlink partner without wiping favourites, etc.), see the delete your data guide.

Is Namekin free?

Yes. The core experience is free, including swiping, favourites, partner sync, and polls. Some advanced features may be available through an optional in-app subscription, but you can use the app fully without one.

Is Namekin available in my country?

Namekin is available worldwide on the App Store and Google Play, with names sourced from many cultural traditions. The app is currently English-only in its interface, with international name data covering Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Scandinavian, Spanish, Welsh, Yoruba, and many more origins.

I found a bug. How do I report it?

Email us at namekin@identityagency.co.uk with a short description, your device model and OS version, and a screenshot or short screen recording if relevant. We aim to reply within two working days.

I have a feature request.

We want to hear it. Email us at namekin@identityagency.co.uk with a short description of what you would like to see and why. We read every message and use feature requests to prioritise the roadmap.

How do I unsubscribe from push notifications?

Open Settings › Notifications in the app to toggle individual notification types, or disable notifications for Namekin entirely from your device's system settings. Unsubscribing also invalidates any push token we hold for your device on our servers.

Is Namekin safe for children to use?

Namekin is designed for expecting parents and adult users planning a baby's name. It is not intended for use by children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will remove any associated data.
