Titilayo

Titilayo is composed of three Yoruba elements: 'titi,' meaning forever or eternally; 'l,' a shortened linking particle (from 'ni'); and 'ayo,' meaning joy or happiness. Together the compound reads as 'joy is eternal' or 'eternal happiness.' The element 'ayo' is among the most widely used components in Yoruba compound names, appearing in dozens of combinations including Ayodele (joy has come home), Ayobami (I am blessed with joy), and Ayoola (joy in wealth). Yoruba is a tonal language spoken by over 40 million people primarily in southwestern Nigeria and parts of Benin and Togo, and its naming tradition is one of the richest in Africa, with names serving as prayers, statements of faith, or records of family circumstances. The element 'titi' in Yoruba conveys the sense of something without end, used in everyday speech as well as in names to intensify or extend a quality.
