Tzlil

Tzlil comes from the Hebrew root tzll (tzade-lamed-lamed), meaning to ring, to chime, or to sound. This root appears in biblical Hebrew in words such as tzlatzal, meaning cymbal or rattling sound, a percussion instrument mentioned in Psalm 150 in the command to praise God with loud clashing cymbals.
